Minutes:
The Committee considered the petition for the first time and agreed to note the correspondence received. In light of the fact that a national set of restrictions have been implemented since the petition was submitted, with no local travel restrictions applying within Wales, and because the specific facility referred to by the petition is covered by rules made by the UK Government. The Committee agreed to thank the petitioner and close the petition.
In doing so, the Committee agreed to write back to the Deputy Minister to ask that consideration is given for allowing amateur athletes to travel outside of their immediate area for training if suitable facilities are not available locally during any potential future lockdown.
