Minutes:
The Committee considered the correspondence received and agreed that the petition has achieved its aim to ensure funding for limb amputees to have prosthetic technology equal to that available within the English and Scottish NHS. It therefore agreed to close the petition and congratulate the petitioner on the positive outcome achieved.
The Committee also agreed to produce a case study to showcase how petitions can make a difference.

The Committee considered an update on the petition and agreed to write back to the Minister to ask why the position in relation to access to micro processor controlled prosthetics is different in Wales.
The Committee also agreed to write directly to the Welsh Health Specialised
Services Committee to ask for:
· the timetable for a review of the current service specification, noting that it appears to have been last updated in 2014, and the interaction between a full review and the annual evidence-based prioritisation process outlined by the Minister.

Committee considered the petition for the first time and agreed to write back
to the Minister for Health and Social Services to ask for details of when the
WHSSC will carry out a review of Specialised Services Service Specification:
CP89 Prosthetic and Amputee Rehabilitation Services, and for an explanation of
why the position in relation to access to microprocessor controlled prosthetics
is different in Wales.
