2 Session with Members of the Welsh Youth Parliament

Wednesday 20th  November is the 30th anniversary of the opening of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) for signatories. To mark this occasion, the Children, Young People and Education (CYPE) Committee has invited Welsh Youth Parliament (WYP) Members to attend a public session to discuss the WYP’s priorities and its members’ work on the CYPE Committee’s inquiry on children’s rights.

2.1 The Chair welcomed Members of the Welsh Youth Parliament and noted that the session had been arranged to mark the 30th anniversary of the UNCRC opening for signatories.

2.2 The Chair welcomed Dai Lloyd AM, the Chair of the Health, Social Care and Sport Committee. He was invited to join the session as the work of the Welsh Youth Parliament is relevant to all committees.

2.3 Members of the Welsh Youth Parliament discussed their priorities with the Committee, and their work on the Children, Young People and Education Committee’s inquiry into Children’s Rights.
