The Committee noted the statement by the Deputy Minister for Climate Change which confirms a review of the route will be undertaken. Considering the Committee’s recommendation that a review be undertaken the Committee agreed to close the petition and thank the petitioner.

  • A range of other environmental and business stakeholders to seek additional evidence on the petition and the proposed Red Route; and
  • the Minister for Economy and Transport to ask further questions related to the development of detailed plans over the route of the new road and planned environmental mitigation measures.

The Committee considered the petition for the first time and agreed to invite the petitioners to attend a future Committee meeting to explore their concerns in relation to the proposed Red Route in more detail.
