To propose that the
National Assembly for Wales
1. Notes the Chief Medical
Officer for Wales’s Annual Report for 2018-19 ‘Valuing our Health’ published on
7 May 2019 and in particular welcomes:
a) the CMO’s
reflections on the achievements, opportunities and challenges which we face in
improving the health of people in Wales;
b) his focus on the
importance of achieving best value from the resources available in health care;
c) the importance
of research to health improvement and the Welsh economy; and
d) his assessment
of the major health threats we face.

Regrets the continued failure to bring
forward legislation to tackle air pollution as a way of improving health.
