In light of the review of fire safety requirements, including those within building regulations, currently being carried out the Committee agreed to close the petition and to thank the petitioner for highlighting this issue.

The Committee considered further correspondence from the petitioner and a third party and agreed to write the Minister for Housing and Local Government to ask for an update on the review or fire safety requirements and details of the consideration given to requiring third party certification for the installation of fire suppression systems.
