The
Committee considered the petition for the first time and agreed to:
- write back to the Minister for Health
and Social Services to request further details about the work being
carried out in hospital settings under the Improving Lives Programme, the
priorities of the Ministerial Advisory Group, and to ask for the
Government’s view on the value of making training about learning disabilities
mandatory for hospital staff; and
- seek further information about the UK
Government’s consultation on proposals for mandatory learning disability
training for all health and care staff in England.
