Dai Lloyd declared an interest as his daughter-in-law is a doctor at Prince Phillip Hospital.

 

The Committee considered further correspondence and agreed to hold the petition and consider any developments in another 6 months’ time, as requested by the petitioners, and seek an update from Hywel Dda University Health Board to inform that discussion.

The Committee considered correspondence on the petition and, given that it is not currently clear that there is any significant threat to service provision at Prince Phillip Hospital or in Llanelli from the information received, agreed to contact the petitioners to ask:

·         whether they would prefer the Committee to keep a watching brief on the changes affecting Prince Philip Hospital and review the petition towards the end of the year; or

·         close the petition at this point, to enable a future petition should this situation change.

·         seek their response to the petition and the comments received from the petitioners; and

·         request an update on proposals relating to service changes at Prince Phillip Hospital.

 

Members also requested a paper setting out details of the petitions that have collected more than 5,000 signatures since March 2017
