Minutes:
The
Committee considered correspondence from the Cabinet Secretary for Economy and
Transport together with further comments from the petitioner. The Committee agreed to write to the Cabinet
Secretary to ask for a more detailed explanation about the availability of
rolling stock, and whether Transport for Wales and the Welsh Government are
utilising all possible approaches to securing additional rolling stock to
improve services across Wales.

The
Committee considered the petition for the first time and agreed to write back
to the Cabinet Secretary for Economy and Transport to ask for further details
of future plans in relation to Chepstow station, and why the planned increase
in Wales & Borders Franchise services stopping at Chepstow cannot be
achieved until December 2022.
