propose that the National Assembly for Wales:
1.
Notes the strong links between Wales and Catalonia dating back from the 1930s during
the Spanish Civil War.
2.
Notes the vote of the Parliament of Catalonia to hold a referendum on
self-determination.
3.
Regrets the heavy-handed response by the Spanish Government and the resulting
detention of elected Catalan representatives in prison.
4.
Supports the right of parliaments in the European Union to make decisions for
the future of their citizens.
