Rhun ap Iorwerth (Ynys Môn)
To propose that
the National Assembly for Wales:
1. Notes the
Welsh Government's target of a million Welsh speakers by 2050.
2. Regrets that
the percentage of seven-year-old learners being taught through the medium of
Welsh has stagnated in recent years.
3. Calls on the
Welsh Government to strengthen Welsh-medium provision across all education
sectors as a central part of its strategy to achieve this target.
The

Delete point 2
and replace with:
Acknowledges
that growing the number of learners receiving their education through the
medium of Welsh has and will continue to be central to Welsh Government
education and skills policy.
Amendment
2. Paul Davies (Preseli
Pembrokeshire)
Add as new point at end of motion:
Calls on the
Welsh Government to work with businesses to improve the use and learning of
Welsh in the workplace.
