The Committee considered the responses from the Police and Crime Commissioners
to the Auditor General for Wales’ report and noted that the Welsh Government
will be undertaking a fundamental review of community safety in Wales rather than
just address the recommendations contained within the Auditor General’s report.
The Committee agreed to clarify with Welsh Government its planned review and
revisit the issue on publication of the Welsh Government’s review.

The Committee received a briefing on the Auditor General for Wales’ report on
his recent report on Community Safety in Wales.
6.2
The Committee agreed that the Chair would write to the Police and Crime
Commissioners and on consideration of their responses, consider whether to hold
oral evidence sessions on this issue.
