4.1 Following the scrutiny session on the Flying Start programme with the Deputy Minister for Children and Social Services on 26 January, Members agreed it would be more appropriate to revisit this issue in 6 month’s time.

3.1 The Chair welcomed the witnesses. Members questioned the witnesses on the Flying Start programme.
Action Point
· The Deputy Minister for Children and Social Services agreed to provide further information on families in receipt of Income Support who are participating in the Flying Start programme.

Services agreed to investigate claims whether LHB’s were freezing the recruitment
of generic Health Visitors as a result of the funding for additional Health Visitors
into the Flying Start programme.

3.3 The flying Start Co-ordinators agreed to provide a note to the Committee on what elements could make up a flying start lite.
