To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:

 

1. Recognises and celebrates the enormous contribution that the arts and creative industries make to the economy and culture of Wales.

 

2. Calls on the Welsh Government to ensure the continuing success of these sectors by:

 

a) reviewing the implementation of the Hargreaves report ‘The Heart of Digital Wales’ to ensure its policies are relevant and up to date, particularly with regard to the development of a Wales performing rights royalties system; and

 

b) ensuring that the Welsh Arts Council review of their artforms strategy during 2013 pays full attention to the need to increase participation in the arts, encourage young people to engage in creativity, promote artistic excellence in both Welsh and English and put Wales on the world stage.
