To propose that the National Assembly for Wales:

Considers the Welsh Government's active travel policies and the potential of active travel to tackle poverty, improve public health and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The following amendments were tabled:

Amendment 1 - William Graham (South Wales East)

Add as new point at end of motion:

Notes with concern that Wales is currently not on course to meet key targets defined in the Welsh Governments Walking and Cycling Action Plan.

Notes the comments made by the Climate Change Commission for Wales in its First Annual Report that the Government has made uncertain progress in encouraging behavioural change for smarter choices of travel.

Add as new point at end of motion:

Calls on the Welsh Government to publish an annual report on the cumulative impact of its active travel initiatives on greenhouse gas emissions in Wales.

Add as new point at end of motion:

Calls on the Welsh Government to ensure that local pedestrian and cycle routes are linked to each other and other transport hubs to create viable regional and national routes.

Believes all major planning developments should be required to take into account the need for easy access by pedestrians and cyclists.
