Add new point at end of motion:
Urges the Welsh Government to prioritise action
to protect older people who are at risk of harm or unable to cope; and to safeguard
their dignity.
The Amendment was agreed, in accordance with Standing
Order 12.36.
Amendment 2 - William Graham (South Wales East)
Add new point at end of motion:
Calls upon the Welsh Government to respond to the challenges defined in
“Calls from the Commissioner”.

Calls upon the Welsh Government to establish a
comprehensive and consistent advocacy service for older people in Wales.

Add new point at end of motion:
Believes that the Welsh Government should:
a) evaluate local schemes, aimed at assisting
elderly people, which:
i) encourage the adoption of healthy lifestyles
and allow them to live safely within a supportive community thus avoiding
unnecessary hospital admissions; and
ii) promote independent living; and
b) incorporate best practices into an all-Wales
action plan on preventative health.
The Amendment was
agreed, in accordance with Standing Order 12.36.

To propose that the National Assembly of Wales:
Notes the report of the Commissioner for Older People for
2010/11, a copy of which was laid in Table Office on 6 October 2011.
Urges the Welsh Government to prioritise action
