Purpose:
The School Standards and Organisation (Wales) Bill, a
Government Bill, introduced by Leighton Andrews, Minister for Education and
Skills. The Business Committee remitted the Bill to the Children and Young People Committee.
About the Bill
The School Standards and Organisation (Wales) Bill includes provision for
intervening in schools causing concern, school improvement, school
organisation, Welsh in Education strategic plans, annual parents meetings,
school-based counselling, primary school free breakfast initiatives and
flexible charging for school meals.

Standards and Organisation (Wales) Act 2013 became law in Wales on
