Decision details
Rheoli perygl llifogydd ac erydu arfordirol yng Nghymru: Adroddiad Archwilydd Cyffredinol Cymru
Decision Maker: Public Accounts Committee - Fifth Senedd
Status: None
Is Key decision?: Yes
Purpose:
The Welsh Government published its National Strategy for Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management in 2011 and four Shoreline Management Plans provide greater insight into the risks of coastal flooding and erosion with suggested approaches to manage the risks.
The report published by the Auditor General on 21 July 2016 considers the progress made by the Welsh Government and its partners on flood and coastal erosion risk management.
The Public Accounts Committee considered the Auditor General’s report and undertook a short inquiry at the end of the autumn 2016 term.
The Committee agreed to publish this report after the Local Government elections on 4 May 2017. As many of the issues are pertinent to Local Authorities, we wanted to allow incoming Authorities full opportunity to consider our recommendations. Following the announcement on 18 April 2017 of the UK General Election to be held on 8 June 2017, the Committee agreed to further defer publication until after this election.
