To
propose that the National Assembly for Wales, in accordance with Standing Order
16.5:
1.
Establishes a Committee on the protection of children from battery inflicted on
grounds of reasonable punishment; and
2.
Agrees that the remit of the Committee is to examine the policy and legislative
considerations surrounding the removal of the “reasonable punishment” defence
in relation to battery of a child, further to section 58 of the Children Act
2004. The Committee will be dissolved following the debate on its report.
