This is a matter where the consent of the National Assembly for Wales is sought by the UK Government to Legislate on an issue which could normally fall within the competence of the Assembly.

 

The Children, Young People and Education Committee reported on the Legislative Consent Memorandum for the Children and Families Bill.

To propose that the National Assembly for Wales, in accordance with Standing Order 29.6 agrees that provisions in the Children and Families Bill, relating to the repeal of section 38 of the Children and Young Persons Act 1963, in so far as it falls within the legislative competence of the National Assembly for Wales, should be considered by the UK Parliament.

A Supplementary Legislative Consent Memorandum has been laid in Table Office on 20 December 2013 in accordance with Standing Order 29.2(iii).

 

The motion was agreed in accordance with Standing Order 12.36.
