To
propose that the National Assembly for Wales:
1.
Welcomes the opportunity provided by Armed Forces Day to thank all those that
have served in our armed forces and the support provided to them by the people
of Wales.
2.
Recognises the contribution of non-military personnel to successive war
efforts.
3.
Calls on the Welsh Government to support veteran-directed services and consider
the introduction of an Armed Forces Card Scheme, for veterans and those serving
in the armed forces, to coincide with events commemorating the centenary of the
First World War.
4.
Calls on the Welsh Government to work with the Assembly Commission to develop
and publish a national programme of commemorative events.
5.
Calls on the Welsh Government to consider working with the armed forces and
other partners to establish a National Military Museum for Wales to commemorate
the rich heritage of sacrifice, courage and service of Welsh military
personnel, civilians, and all those who have served their country in times of
armed conflict.
