Purpose:

The Communities, Equality and Local Government Committee undertook an inquiry into the Welsh Government’s historic environment policy.

 

Purpose of the Inquiry

 

The purpose of this inquiry was to provide the Committee with an opportunity to feed into the Welsh Government’s proposed Historic Environment Strategy and its work to look at how the functions of the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales could be merged with the functions of other organisations, including Cadw. The Committee focussed specifically on the overall policy direction and strategic priorities of the Welsh Government in this regard.

Notes the Report of the Communities, Equality and Local Government Committee on the Welsh Government’s Historic Environment Policy, which was laid in the Table Office on 6 March 2013.
