On 2 June 2023, the Auditor General published a report looking at whether WEFO and the Welsh Government were maximising the draw down of EU funds. The report covered the Structural Funds Programme and the Rural Development Programme for 2014-2020. The Public Accounts and Public Administration Committee agreed to consider the report, with an evidence session held with the Welsh Government and WEFO on 14 September 2023.
