The Children, Young People and Education Committee undertook an inquiry into Perinatal Mental Health. The aim of the inquiry was to consider how Perinatal Mental Health services are provided and how the Welsh Government could improve services for mothers, babies, fathers and families.
The Committee was keen to hear how services link together under the umbrella of Perinatal Mental Health, including specialised perinatal mental health services, maternity services, general adult mental health services, inpatient mother and baby units, parent and infant mental health services, health visiting, clinical psychology, and midwifery services, GPs and the extended primary care team, role of the third sector and local support groups, and private providers of services.

After the laying of the report, Cwm Taf University Health Board (PDF 131KB) sent correspondence correcting evidence given in relation to their perinatal mental health services
The response to the Inquiry (PDF 353KB) from the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Services has been published
