Business Committee Minutes
Business Committee Minutes
The Business Committee is responsible for the organisation
of Assembly Business. It is the only Committee whose functions and remit is set
out in Standing Orders. Its role is to “facilitate the effective organisation of
Assembly proceedings” as stated in Standing Order 11.1.
The Presiding Officer chairs the meetings, which are attended by the Minister
for Government Business and a Business Manager from each of the parties
represented in the Assembly.
The Committee usually meets weekly when the Assembly is in session, to comment
on proposals for the organisation of Government business and to determine the
organisation of Assembly business in Plenary.
The minutes of each private meeting are published in English and Welsh within 1 week of their being agreed by the Committee – these minutes have now moved to the Business Committee Meeting Pages
