Purpose of the consultation
At its meeting on 4 July the Remuneration Board undertook its third consideration of part two of its review of the Determination for the Sixth Assembly. This part of the review focuses on the support for Assembly Members and Political Parties chapters of the Determination.
The Board has identified a number of areas within these chapters where it is of the view that changes may be required. The Board is also consulting on proposals to change some rules of the Members’ Pension Scheme. Full details of the Board’s proposals are detailed in the consultation document.
Terms of reference
The Remuneration Board, in its strategy report for 2016-2021, outlined its commitment to publishing its Determination for the Sixth Assembly one year before the Welsh general election in 2021. The Board has agreed the following terms of reference for the review:

- the flexibility, prescriptiveness and accessibility of the provisions;
- the probity, accountability, reasonableness and transparency of the expenditure made available.
Providing written evidence
