The Committee will consider the evidence it receives as part of this inquiry in the context of the implementation of the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 and the Rights of Children and Young Persons (Measure) Wales 2011.

The Committee is committed to involving children and young people in its work. This inquiry will ensure the views and experiences of children and young people, their families and practitioners will be captured in a useful, sensitive and constructive way.

Committee Survey

To inform the Committee’s inquiry into The Emotional and Mental Health of Children and Young People, two surveys are currently underway – one with children and young people, the other with education professionals.

The Children & Young People survey explores what support is provided at school or college to help pupils feel more confident in talking about their emotional and mental health. The professionals’ survey seeks views on whether they feel able and supported to offer emotional intelligence and healthy coping mechanisms to students.
