Purpose of the consultation
The
National Assembly for Wales’ new Culture,
Welsh Language and Communications Committee was established in June 2016.
Our
remit is to examine legislation and hold the Welsh Government to account by
scrutinising expenditure, administration and policy matters, encompassing (but
not restricted to): culture; the arts; historic environment; Welsh language;
communications; broadcasting and the media.
More
detail on the wider roles and responsibilities of Assembly Committees was set
out in the report “Committees
in the Fifth Assembly” (PDF 235 KB) which was laid before the Assembly on
23 June 2016.
In
order to help inform its Forward Work Programme, the Committee was interested
in hearing the views of the People of Wales in relation to what the priorities
of the Committee should be during the Fifth Assembly.
All
suggestions were requested to reach us by 1 September 2016.
