Purpose of the consultation
The Health and Social Care Committee undertook an inquiry into stroke
risk reduction during winter 2011. The terms of reference for the inquiry
were:
To examine the current provision of stroke risk reduction
services and the effectiveness of Welsh Government policies in addressing any
weaknesses in these services, including:
- scrutinising
the implementation of the Welsh Government’s Stroke Risk Reduction Action
Plan, including the extent to which action to raise public awareness of
the risk factors for stroke has succeeded;
- identifying those areas where
there are particular problems in the implementation and delivery of stroke
risk reduction actions;
- considering the evidence for an
atrial fibrillation screening programme being launched in Wales.
The
consultation has now closed.
