Purpose of the consultation
The Committees of the National Assembly sought
information to inform their scrutiny of the Welsh Government’s 2020-21 Draft
Budget proposals. They were interested in exploring expectations of the 2020-21
budget, including financial readiness for the 2020-21 year and the impact of
the 2019-20
budget.
The Finance
Committee looks at the Welsh Government’s budget
from a strategic, overarching perspective. We also work with the other Assembly
Committees to ensure that proposals for specific departments, or cabinet
portfolios are considered in detail.
The Committee asked for views on the
specific questions included in the consultation
letter (PDF, 82KB) and any general views in relation to the draft budget.
