Description: Rare Disease Day is an annual event which provides the rare disease community across the world with an opportunity to increase awareness of rare diseases and highlight rare dis-eases as a public health priority to government and health departments. Since 2009, Rare Disease UK (an initiative of Genetic Alliance UK), the national alliance for people with rare diseases and all who support them, has coordinated awareness raising parliamentary events throughout the UK. The eleventh international Rare Disease Day will take place on 28 February 2018. In order to mark the day, Rare Disease UK will be holding a reception at the Senedd on Wednesday, 14th February between 6-8pm.
Open to the public: The event will take place outside our normal opening hours therefore attendance will be by invitation only
