Paper 1 – Minutes from 30 November meeting

• The Chair welcomed everyone to the meeting. Mike Redhouse and Hugh Widdis joined virtually. 

• The minutes of the meeting on 29 and 30 November were agreed. 

Action: 

• The Board’s Secretariat will publish the minutes for the meeting held on 29 and 30 November. 

Oral item – Economic update

• The Board received an update from Martin Jennings (the Research Team’s Head of Financial Scrutiny) on the current economic climate and forecasts.  

Decision: 

• The Board agreed to share the Economic Update which was prepared by the Senedd Commission Research Service with Representative Groups. 

Paper 2 – Summary of consultation responses

Paper 3 – Consultation responses

• The Board considered the responses received on the consultation on the Annual Review of the Determination and discussed whether any additional information was required to inform final decisions on the Determination for 2024-25 ahead of the next meeting of the Board.

Action: 

• The Board noted the consultation responses and will make its final decisions of the revised Determination at the March meeting. 

Paper 4 – Discussion: Thematic Review and Determination Planning

• The Board discussed progress to date in carrying out its five thematic reviews, emerging common issues and considered the next steps in delivering the Determination for Seventh Senedd. 

Action: 

• Secretariat to prepare a paper for the Board’s meeting in March to inform decisions on the next steps of its thematic review programme. 

Paper 5 – Update paper

• The Board noted updates on various matters relevant to its work and also its forward work programme. 

• The Board noted correspondence received and issued since the last meeting.
