Motion to approve the Guidance for Members of the Senedd on the registration, declaration and recording of financial and other interests

To propose that the Senedd:   

1. Approves the Guidance for Members of the Senedd on the registration, declaration and recording of financial and other interests, which was laid in the Table Office on 11 March 2026.

2. Resolves that the specified values and criteria that the Senedd may by resolution agree under paragraph 5 of the Annex to Standing Order 2 are as set out in the Guidance.

3. Agrees that the Guidance will come into force as of the start of the Seventh Senedd.

At the Committee’s meeting on 18 September, Members agreed to consider proposals for changes to Standing Orders, following recommendations made in the Standards of Conduct report: Inquiry into Registration and Declaration of Interests: Consideration of Standards of Conduct Committee recommendations. At that meeting, Members requested further information in relation to recommendation 11 of the report.

 

Following receipt of this further information, the Business Committee agreed to the recommendations made in the report.

2.2. The Committee agreed that Table Office should roll out the new form to Members in September.

 

2.3 The Committee also agreed that Table Office should look into the development of an electronic form for initial registrations at the start of the Seventh Senedd.
