Discussion of Evidence from Preceding Session

The Committee discussed the evidence received during the earlier scrutiny
session and agreed to write to the First Minister, setting out a number of
observations and recommendations.

Minutes:
Members agreed to hold their next meeting in North Wales.
The meeting will be during the summer term.
It was agreed that the clerking team would liaise with the
First Minister to find a suitable date and location for the meeting.
Members agreed that the topic for the next meeting should be
the provision of major infrastructure projects including energy, with a
particular focus on examples in North Wales, including rail electrification,
A55 improvements, nuclear and renewable energy, grid enhancement and city
regions.
Members suggested that the visit to North Wales could also
include an engagement the night before the meeting.
Members also suggested holding a public engagement event
such as an “open mic session”. The First Minister could also be invited to take
part in this activity.
Members commented that they liked the style of briefing provided during the previous meeting, and would like something similar for future meetings.
