I am keen to see the assault law placed on the same footing for children as it is for adults. I feel that currently it is seen as acceptable to strike children because the law provides a legal defence.

1.3     Do you think there is a need for legislation to deliver what this Bill is trying to achieve?

Yes. The issue is around the current assault laws so legislation is needed to correct it.

None. I believe the reforms will make the law clearer for parents/carers.
