1. The attempt to criminalise parents for smacking is absolutely disgusting, and is unreasonable state interference in family life and undermines genuine, loving parents. The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has upheld the legal defence of reasonable chastisement in principle.
2. There is absolutely no evidence to justify criminalising parents. A light infrequent smack in the context of a loving parent-child relationship is not harmful. The Government admitted this in its consultation document last year. Children need discipline and to know right from wrong otherwise you are creating a lawless society and one where crime and a lack of respect for authority will escalate.
3. This is a disgusting waste of tax-payers money for something that is not needed and not wanted! The Government’s impact assessment for the Bill estimates a cost of £3.3 million for law enforcement, and unquantifiable costs for child protection services. Requiring police and social workers to investigate parents who smack is draining and wasting money and resources away from the already difficult task of identifying genuine abuse, which there are already laws in place for.

100% NO NEED WHATSOEVER FOR THIS EVIL, DISGUSTING AND PERNICIOUS PIECE OF LEGISLATION!
This is because:
1. There are laws already in place that protect children from abuse.
2. Any punishment/chastisement of children that is excessive is already against the law.
3. The current law is more than sifficient and it does not need to be changed, it needs to be enforced.

A disgusting waste of taxpayers money that is completely unnecessary and that could be used on something genuinely needed and that could make genuine improvements to Wales.

NO!

Yes, many!
1. Enforcement of this evil, disgusting and pernicious law would disrupt loving families. If a parent is penalised and criminalised for smacking their child they could lose their job or even custody of their children. This is absolute evil! To break up loving families, cause massive trauma to children and to destroy peoples lives is beyong disgusting!
2. Taking away the ‘reasonable chastisement defence’ will mean that a genuine, loving parent disciplining their child with a mild smack would be classed as assault. Absolutely ridiculous! Banning smacking will inevitably catch ordinary loving parents and turn them into criminals. This is beyond evil! The Welsh Government should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves for even suggesting this legislation!
3. If this legislation is introduced, it will create a lawless society, a rise in unemployment due to genuien, loving parents getting criminal records for the simple reasonable chastisement of their child. It will destroy the safe, secure, loving family units in Wales. It will create hatred, mistrust, and anger towards the Welsh Governement, police and social workers.
4. Introduction of this evil, disgusting, pernicious, and uneeded and unwanted legislation will cause a LOT of hard-working, decent people in Wlaes to relocate to England or another part of the UK or abroad to avoid being crominalised for being a loving parent who reasonably chastises their own child/children. Perhaps this is the Welsh Government's plan, as they perhaos want only old aged pensioners and people claiming benefits living in Wales, in order to gain more Labout votes for them to remain in power.
