As a parent with responsibility for my own children I feel it is my right to lovingly discipline my children how I see fit. Criminalising smacking would restrict me and many others from the choice of using this as a means to lovingly correct wrong behaviour.
i have no time for adults who act violently towards their children and this bill only makes it harder for teachers, police and social workers to detect the relationships where 'real' physical abuse is an ongoing issue.

I also disagree with the bill when it appears that a majority of the population would agree that the bill to criminalise smacking is wrong. In my line of work I have seen that the law already serves to protect children from violence.
