I do not support any complete banning of smacking children, whereby loving parents could be criminalised.
It should be the role of a parent to decide whether to smack their child, not the Government.

A smacking ban would turn thousands of parents into potential criminals overnight while doing little to stop bad parents abusing children. The state should not use the criminal law to regulate parenting, as we have already long seen only increasingly bad behaviour in children & youths seeing themselves as protected by ill thought out & knee jerk reactions to our current family crises, not remotely assisted by current govt ideas.

Yes, yet more bad behaviour & societal problems.

Endless court cases, & overworked & mislead 'social workers' - already hampered by govt. meddling & destruction of the family unit & norm.
