Parents who love and seek to correct their children in a loving and caring way should not have the threat of legal action hanging over them.
Discipline begins in the home in a nurturing way, and is not child abuse .
Devoted parents must be allowed to bring up their children without State intervention.
Adequate safeguards already exist to protect children from genuine abuse.

Children are already treated differently under law to an adult.
Parents impose sanctions on their children, eg. confined to their bedroom, confiscation of their mobile phone etc. which would be against the law to do to an adult.
