About you

Individual

1      The Bill’s general principles

1.1     Do you support the principles of the Children (Abolition of Defence of Reasonable Punishment) (Wales) Bill?

— No

1.2     Please outline your reasons for your answer to question 1.1

(we would be grateful if you could keep your answer to around 1000 words)

What evidence is there to justify this law?

Why is this law needed above the existing laws to protect child safety?

How will this law be enforced?

What extra budget will Social Service need to support this law?

Who within the Welsh Parliament had this law within their manifesto and if it was not in any parties manifesto why is this being deliberated?

Has satisfactory research been undertaken to understand the social implication of the removal of physical discipline?

Which countries have done this are there success stories in wider society as a result? Lower crime? Less social behavioural events?

I have too many questions and feel woefully uninformed by the Welsh Parliament in relation to the direction it seems to be taking without clear demand from the public.

1.3     Do you think there is a need for legislation to deliver what this Bill is trying to achieve?

(we would be grateful if you could keep your answer to around 1000 words)

No.

2      The Bill’s implementation

2.1     Do you have any comments about any potential barriers to  implementing the Bill? If no, go to question 3.1

(we would be grateful if you could keep your answer to around 1000 words)

Too many.

2.2     Do you think the Bill takes account of these potential barriers?

(we would be grateful if you could keep your answer to around 1000 words)

No- during a budget crisis you want try and get more out of a stretched service. Absolutely ridiculous!

Nearly as ridiculous as the smoking while you have a child in the car laws... how many prosecutions versus the cost of implementation?

3      Unintended consequences

3.1     Do you think there are there any unintended consequences arising from the Bill? If no, go to question 4.1

(we would be grateful if you could keep your answer to around 1000 words)

As above

4      Financial implications

4.1     Do you have any comments on the financial implications of the Bill (as set out in Part 2 of the Explanatory Memorandum)? If no, go to question 5.1

(we would be grateful if you could keep your answer to around 1000 words)

As above

5      Other considerations

5.1     Do you have any other points you wish to raise about this Bill?

(we would be grateful if you could keep your answer to around 1000 words)

What are you thinking!

Is this the biggest issue in Wales right now?

Wake up!!!

You have a generation of emotionally damaged children from social media, technology dependence and loss of human relationships.

I think you need to listen to the Youth Parliament and the pre internet generation to understand the needs of the nation.

E.g. too much technology dob pre 1990 too little technology pre 1970.
