I was raised in a domestically violent household in Aberdare and also sexually abused by my father. No one ever challenged him punching us in public because hitting your child is legal. What does reasonable punishment mean anyway? There is no guidance for parents to say what hitting is ok and what isnt. Parents aren’t trained what is a tap and what is the equivalent of a punch to a small child. Please abolish this law, it’s outdated.

Yes. As above, if law is not fully abolished, you need to produce guidance on what is ok and what is not when punishing a child.
