Answer |
01 |
Yes Why not include the WHO definition? Autistic Spectrum disorder is already such a complex condition you do not need to include other neurodevelopmental disorders as this will dilute the emphasis on ASD. The issue is autism as we currently understand it as this group has been neglected for far too long. |
02 |
No See above comments |
03 |
Yes But without proper funding from central government (NHS) and sanctions nothing will change |
04 |
Yes Absolutely, as the time for 'thinking' is over and urgent action is needed |
05 |
Not sure this is enough time? |
06 |
Definately not enough time unless enough resources are devoted to this |
07 |
The sooner it becomes law the better |
08 |
We should all be following best practice guidance NICE |
09 |
Yes Need to set timescales but what happens if these are not met? |
10 |
Yes Not sure why you have not included a learning disability nurse / advanced practitioner in the list of professionals? |
11 |
Learning disability nurse who has developed specialist skills / knowledge in this area. This should also apply to all those professionals listed above as part of the assessment team. |
12 |
The individual may lack insight into the condition or have good insight and not want to be labelled with ASD and thus may refuse help. In England we have seen services putting up thresholds for people to receive help. Future changes in definitions of ASD and lack of funding / expertise. |
13 |
Yes |
14 |
All of the above but also if they did not get a diagnosis and the reasons behind this |
15 |
It should be written on the Bill. The Bill would be stronger but could be in both or expanded upon in the guidance? |
16 |
Yes You need to cast your net wide and far to get all the information |
17 |
It should happen all the time. It should be a continuous process but a yearly event to highlight issues should be considered |
18 |
Good |
19 |
Get on with it and make it happen |
