Economic contribution of local shops. At this meeting the group received a presentation on the economic contribution of local shops to the Welsh economy and held a discussion on the future programme of activity.

Championing best practice in management of high streets across Wales. A presentation from experts from Towns Alive provided examples of excellent work being done in Bangor, Dolgellau, Neath and Ystradgynlais to meet the challenges faced by these three very different towns. Following this meeting the Group circulated a report to all AMs showcasing the best practice.

The group heard from Officials leading the reform of planning policy for the Welsh Assembly Government. The group was able to feed in views into the ongoing development of policy.
