British Sign Language (Wales) Bill

Mae gwelliannau a nodir ag ‘R’ yn dynodi bod yr Aelod wedi datgan buddiant cofrestradwy o dan Reol Sefydlog 2 neu fuddiant perthnasol o dan Reolau Sefydlog 13 neu 17 wrth gyflwyno’r gwelliant.

Amendments marked ‘R’ mean that the Member has declared either a registrable interest under Standing Order 2 or relevant interest under Standing Orders 13 or 17 when tabling the amendment.

Page 1, after line 3, insert a new section—

‘Introduction

[ ] British Sign Language

(1) References in this Act to “BSL” are to—

(a) the visual form of British Sign Language, and

(b) the tactile form of British Sign Language used and understood by some deafblind people.

(2) But the references to BSL in sections 2(3)(b), 3(b), 4(7), 5(2), 6(2) and 7(2)(c) are to the visual form only.’.

(b) include targets to increase or maintain the numbers of BSL translators and interpreters available for the purpose of exercising the functions mentioned in paragraph (a)’.
