1       Introductions, apologies, substitutions and declarations of interest

1.1     The Chair welcomed Members to the first meeting of the Committee on Assembly Electoral Reform. Apologies were received from Delyth Jewell AM; there was no substitute.



2       Committee remit

2.1     The Chair made a brief statement in respect of the Committee’s remit.



3       Motion under Standing Order 17.42(ix) to exclude the public from the remainder of the meeting, and from the next two Committee meetings

3.1     The motion was agreed.



4       Approach to Committee remit

4.1     The Committee agreed to use its next meeting to develop a strategic approach to its remit.



5       Ways of working

5.1     The Committee considered and agreed its ways of working.



6       Technical briefing on the work of the Expert Panel on Assembly Electoral Reform and the Assembly Commission's Assembly reform programme

6.1  The Committee received a technical briefing from Anna Daniel and Laura McAllister.
