1.1        The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting.

1.2        The Chair welcomed Neil Hamilton AM onto the Committee.



2       Environmental Principles and Governance post-Brexit - evidence session 5

2.1 The Committee received evidence from Anne Meikle, Head, World Wild Fund for Nature (WWF) Cymru; Llinos Price, Policy Officer Wales, Woodland Trust; and Annie Smith, Sustainable Development Manager, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) Cymru.

4       Motion under Standing Order 17.42 (vi) to resolve to exclude the public from items 5, 6 and 7 of today's meeting

4.1 The Committee resolved to exclude the public from items 5,6 and 7 of today’s meeting.



5       Environmental Principles and Governance post-Brexit - Consideration of evidence received under item 2

5.1 The Committee discussed the evidence received under item 2.



6       Forward Work Programme - Consideration of timetable for Wild Animals and Circuses (Wales) Bill

6.1 The Committee agreed the proposed timetable for consideration of the Wild Animals and Circuses (Wales) Bill. It was agreed that the Chair would write to the Business Committee on this matter.


6.2 The Committee agreed to invite the Minister for Environment, Energy and Rural Affairs to its meeting on Thursday 18 July 2019 to give evidence in connection with the Bill.  This is subject to the Bill being introduced by that date.



7       Briefing: Addressing the climate policy gap in Wales

7.1 The Committee received a briefing from Filippos Proedrou, Research Fellow, University of South Wales, on research undertaken on behalf of the Assembly on addressing the climate policy gap in Wales.
