1       Introductions, apologies, substitutions and declarations of interest

1.1 The Chair welcomed Members to the meeting.

2       Public Health (Wales) Bill - Stage 1 evidence session 7 - Minister for Social Services and Public Health

2.1 The Committee received evidence from the Minister and her accompanying officials.

2.2 The Minister agreed to provide the following:

•        a note detailing a practitioner’s ability to refuse to perform an intimate piercing on a person under the age of 18 when the legal restrictions only apply to those under the age of 16, and the potential consequences, legal or otherwise, for such a practitioner;

•        further details on the relevant offences outlined in section 63(3) of the Bill, and the current lack of mention of sexual offences;

•        a copy of her letter to BMA Cymru Wales, sent in December 2016, addressing their concerns about pharmaceutical services and Pharmaceutical Needs Assessments.

3.1 The Committee received evidence from representatives of the Royal College of Physicians.

8       Inquiry into loneliness and isolation - consideration of scope and approach to the inquiry

8.1 The Committee agreed the final terms of reference for its inquiry into loneliness and isolation and agreed to consult widely.
