1.1. The Chair welcomed Members and members of the public to the meeting.
1.2. Apologies for absence were received from Jocelyn Davies AM and Gwenda Thomas AM. Bethan Jenkins AM attended as a substitute for Jocelyn Davies.
2.1 The Committee received evidence from:
· Rona Fairhead, Chairman, BBC Trust
· Elan Closs Stephens, National Trustee for Wales, BBC Trust
2.2 The Trust agreed to provide the Committee with the Trust’s monitoring reports, or a precis of the reports, which assess the progress made in relation to the June 2008 King Report.
3.1 The Committee received evidence from:
· Iestyn Garlick, Teledwyr Annibynnol Cymru (TAC)
· Gareth Williams, Teledwyr Annibynnol Cymru (TAC)
· John McVay, Producers Alliance for Cinema and Television (PACT)
3.2 TAC agreed to seek to provide the Committee with further information on BBC Alba’s funding and whether S4C and BBC Alba will be treated comparably in the future.
4.1The Committee noted the papers.
5.1 The Committee agreed the motion.
6.1 The Committee discussed the evidence received under items 2 and 3.
7.1 The Committee discussed its consideration of the Draft Wales Bill and agreed to write to the Chair of the Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee.
8.1 The Committee discussed its approach to scrutiny of the refreshed Financial Inclusion Strategy.
