Business Committee discussed further the possibility of making 30 minutes the default scheduling for government statements. The Trefnydd stated that the government has shortened the time allocated to some statements in coming weeks and would be keeping this under review until the Easter recess.

The Trefnydd noted that there is a privilege day for Welsh Government staff on Monday 6 June 2022 and requested that committee scrutiny sessions with Ministers are not scheduled for that day.

Business Committee agreed to the Committee’s request for an additional meeting on 28 March.

Business Committee agreed to the Committee’s request for an additional meeting during the week of 28 March.
7 Nominations to European committees
Business Committee noted an exchange of correspondence between the UK Government Minister of State for Equalities and Levelling Up Communities and the Llywydd regarding the Senedd’s nominations for the UK delegation to the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities at the Council of Europe, and agreed to discuss the issue further once a response has been received from the Minister. Business Committee asked officials for a background note on previous nominations to the Council of Europe.
